Claims on behalf of deceased's estate

In the aftermath of a sudden or unexpected death for which another party may be responsible it is often the case that families seek answers or explanations. They may also feel the need to seek some form of justice on behalf of the deceased.

Although the Courts will not award compensation for the fact of a death, they may allow a claim to be made on behalf of the deceased for losses and expenses that arise after an accident or injury and prior to death. They may also award compensation for funeral expenses.

The awards of compensation made in these cases may be quite modest but for many families the successful conclusion of the case signifies that justice has been done.
