Community health service negligence

For many patients who are pregnant; recovering after childbirth; injury or hospitalization, it is the availability of community based health services that helps them remain in their homes, living independently and recovering well. This vital part of NHS care includes District Nurses; Community Midwives; Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.

These dedicated professionals are an important bridge between hospitals and GPs. They may be able to identify medical complications or recognize when a recovery is not progressing as anticipated. Generally the care they provide is of a good standard.

Unfortunately these clinicians often work under considerable time constraints. They are human and inevitably mistakes may be made. For patients whose health is compromised by recent injury, surgery or an underlying condition, even small errors can be potentially dangerous.
