Advising with empathy and experience

Brachial plexus sponsored bike ride.

The CNCI Team are delighted to be able to offer their support and sponsorship to three members of the TBPI Group who will be riding from John O’ Groats to Land’s End to raise awareness of the impact of these injuries and the TBPI Group.

Ed, Kev and Neil will embark on their journey on 17th June 2012 and will call, en route, at the major BPI hospitals of Glasgow, Leeds, Stanmore and Bristol.

Ed Barnes, who suffered a left brachial plexus injury in a road accident, will ride his Honda CBR1100XX Blackbird on the journey. Ed’s initial injury was compounded by delays in a referral for assessment and treatment at a specialist centre. Speaking of the event Ed said “brachial plexus injuries need prompt  treatment if there is to be a good outcome. We hope our ride will help to raise awareness of the vital work carried out at specialist centres and the hope they offer to BPI victims”.

Kim Daniells of the CNCI Team who advised Ed during his claim arising from the injury said “Ed lost the opportunity to make a good recovery from his injury because there was a delay in referral. It is a tribute to Ed’s courage and resilience that he will endure further pain and discomfort to help others. We are honoured to support Ed and his colleagues and wish them a successful and safe journey”
