Post-Partum Psychosis

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is an anxiety disorder which may develop after exposure to very stressful or terrifying events.  Experiencing a life-threatening event or re-experiencing chronic exposure to abuse can lead to the development of PTSD.  In some circumstances, family members of victims can also experience the disorder through vicarious trauma.

People with PTSD often experience intrusive memories or flashbacks, emotional numbness, sleep disturbances, anxiety, intense guilt, sadness, irritability, or outbursts of anger.  Many people with PTSD may try to avoid situations that remind them of the ordeal. PTSD is frequently accompanied by depression, substance abuse and panic attacks.

Where it can be proven that the development of PTSD is linked to an event or course of events for which an individual or organisation are responsible, it may be possible to seek financial compensation to support you.  Whether caused by a physical injury sustained in an accident or assault, or a prolonged period of sexual abuse, the CNCI team has experience dealing with individuals who are suffering from PTSD. We can guide you through the claims process.
